Abstract:

Type 1 diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases in children. The cause of this disease is the destruction of pancreatic beta cells and the consequent loss of insulin production in the body. The incidence of this disease varies according to the geographical area, age, sex, family history, and race. Parents play an important role in childhood diabetes. Certainly, children do not have the ability to diagnose and treat, and the parents must give them the necessary care. It is obvious that children with disabilities need more care. In general, children with special healthcare needs often require specialized medical care and support. This article analyzed the main directions of SOCIAL protection of families raising children with disabilities. All types of payments and benefits for this category of the population in modern Russia were considered, i.e. prospects of SOCIAL work technologies with such categories as families with disabled children, particularly at the residence. The directions of the considered technology between various subjects and objects with a given family were analyzed, that is the historical aspect of the study of intrafamilial relationships in a Mordovian family with a disabled child. An algorithm of intermediary SOCIAL activity with a category of the considered type is proposed.

Abstract:

1. Importance of Viral Hepatitis Elimination Viral hepatitis is one of the deadliest diseases in human history. The mortality rate of viral hepatitis is majorly linked to the hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections, with an estimated number of 1. 3 million deaths per year (1). Globally, there are almost half a billion people (1 out of 12 persons) living with chronic viral hepatitis, of which up to 40% will develop liver cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), or liver failure (2-4). Surprisingly, 40% to 80% of chronic carriers are not aware of their infection status (5). . . .

Abstract:

Introduction: The absence of comprehensive SUPPORTS systems for older persons in Nigeria has put them on psychoSOCIAL challenges at old age. Thus, this study profiled the SOCIAL SUPPORTS provided by the adults to older persons in Ibadan, Southwestern Nigeria. Methods: This cross-sectional study utilized mixed method approach to administer a standardized questionnaire among 460 consented adults who had older parents, and conducted twelve in-depth interviews (IDIs) among male and female participants in Apete, a peri-urban community in Ibadan, Nigeria. Quantitative and qualitative data were analyzed respectively using SPSS ver. 20 and content analysis. Results: Most (67. 2%) of the respondents were females, and 77. 2% were not living with their older parents. Older parents of 32. 4% of the respondents relied on children as a source of income, whereas nearly half (47. 0%) of the respondents perceived the care of the elderly as government responsibility. Financial care (48. 5%) from significant others was perceived the most unmet SOCIAL needs of the elderly, while lack of money (44. 6%) was perceived the cause of the unmet SOCIAL needs of the elderly. There was significant relationship (χ 2 = 0. 056) between the average monthly income and the time frame the children give money to older parents. Conclusion: There exist SOCIAL SUPPORTS to the elderly in peri-urban Nigeria. The SOCIAL support systems available to the elderly were influenced by the culture, blessing/prayer-needs from parents, and reciprocity factors.

Abstract:

Background: Missed nursing care seems to be controlled by factors such as SOCIAL support. The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between perceived SOCIAL SUPPORTS and missed nursing care in working nurses. Methods: In this descriptive correlational study, 156 nurses working in teaching hospitals of Hamedan city were selected by randomized stratified sampling method. The data collection tools included: Checklist of demographic characteristics, Perceived SOCIAL Support Scale by Zimmet et al., and Missed Nursing Care Questionnaire by Kalish and Williams. Data analysis was done in SPSS 24 software with descriptive statistics and Pearson, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-wallis correlation coefficients. Also, the significance level of the tests was less than 0.05. Results: The results of study showed that 53.8% of the nurses were female and 82.7% have bachelor's degree, and the scores of perceived SOCIAL support and missed nursing care were 45.35±5.74 and 6.92±46.32, respectively. Also, there is a negative and statistically significant relationship between these two variables (p<0.001, r= -0.329). Conclusion: Considering the negative relationship between SOCIAL support and missed nursing care, it is therefore suggested that managers increase the SOCIAL support of nurses to reduce missed nursing care and improve the quality of nursing services.

Abstract:

Introduction: Each year, the government provides considerable financial contribution in health expenditure of the insured employees in the informal sector. Nevertheless, there are still a great number of households in the active employed and unemployed group that are excluded from universal health insurance. This research assessed policies for developing health insurance for active workers in the informal sector, and the self-employed health insurance plan. Methods: This was a descriptive– analytic study. Using the primary record data from the Iranian Statistical Center, Health Insurance Services Organization, and SOCIAL Security Organization, the secondary data were created and analyzed using situation analysis. Results: In 1996-2007, the government’s share for compensating the shortages of funds for health insurance of the employed and unemployed workers in informal sector has reduced significantly. Also, the average growth rate of per capita health expenditure of the insured people in informal sector has been less than the average for the insured people in both formal and informal sectors. In the plan of health insurance for the population in informal sector, it is also expected that more than half of the health expenses to be financed by the service users. Conclusion: If the government does not intervene in organizing insurance plan for the informal sector and does not provide financial support, developing of health insurance in this sector is not feasible. The results of the current plan for the self-employed shows that the required incentives and demand for SOCIAL health insurance is not present in the non-obligatory state, especially for the unemployed active workers.
